Hi,

Hi, i am still on here.  Thanks for the reply.  It’s great to find another descendant from Jonathan Sutton.  I have learnt a little more about him since I was last on this site.  Although he was a police inspector, his fractured skull didn’t come about from his work.  He had just retired from the force and was at home trimming a tree and fell from a ladder ending up with a fractured skull.  He later died from those injuries.  I have also seen a picture of his grave site.

Yes, I think it is suffolk.  He lived in and around foxearth, essex, but I not some of the births of his children were registered ad sudbury, suffolk.   As was his death.

Just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction please.  I am trying to find a will for George Newman, died, September quarter 1913, age 75 years, 4a, pg 805. I have no idea of where to start looking, any help would be greatfully received.

thanks

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Re: Nursling & Romsey MI & 1851 census Lookup
« on: Thursday 19 January 06 03:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi , yes am still looking for any info on this family.  Joshua Newman last appears in the 1871 Census in Winchester, Nursling, Hampshire, England, so I'm guessing that he has died sometime after that.  He was 66 years old at the time of the 1871 census.  Joshua's wife Eliza also disappears after the 1871 census.  I really don't have too much info on this family.

Kind Regards

Vanessa

Hi, not sure how well you will see this, but it says Feb 31 1845, I do have other photos that show it more clearly but this is the only one I have scanned at the moment.

Berwickshire / 31 February 1845?????
« on: Thursday 18 August 05 20:13 BST (UK)  »
Has anybody ever come across the date 31 February, shown on a grave.  I have a photograph of a gravesite at Preston, Berwickshire, Scotland, which clearly shows the date of death as 31 February 1845.  As you will all know, there is never 31 days in February.  Does anybody know whether the calander was ever different back then??  or if this is a mistake engraved on the headstone.  I am truely confused.
