Oops, I have re-posted, not very used to this website which I am revisiting after a long break!

I have copy death certificates for a John Wheeler died 1839 age 11 Wendlebury, Oxfordshire, and a John Wheeler died 1843 age 56 farmer from Bicester, unfortunately not 'my' John Wheeler's but if they may be of help to someone I am happy to pass them on.

Thanks for that, the date seems to tie in with the birth of the first child, pieces of the jigsaw are slowly coming together!

;DThank you so much that's made a big hole in my brick wall, I had my 2x great grandad John Gough and his brother Mark from the census but now there are more siblings and his grandparents! Strange that my John Gough born c1815 was not baptised whereas the others were - or is there a gap in the records? If you have access to the records are you able to tell me whether Thomas Gough was baptised in Great Tew?
Thanks again
Rebecca

I am searching for more info on a John Gough who was born about 1781 in Great Tew, Oxon (according to census) he married Ann ? and had two sons John born 1815 and Mark born 1827 ( may have been others not showing on census). If anyone can fill in any more details I would be very grateful.

Hello
Thanks for your posts, the census info looks interesting, I have a feeling he may have been in prison as he keeps disappearing!
The 2 baptisms - the 1800 one I think is too early, the 1814 one looks hopeful but there is another William Edden on census returns married to an Elizabeth, d.o.b varies between 1814-1816 (may be rounding) but born in Hook Norton, and in 1851 appears in the census at the same time as 'my' William so I think that the baptism belongs to him.

There are other strands on this subject started by 'Jaywit' at 'Thomas Eden married to Arminda' all very helpful - I need to get digging!

Hello there,
Yes we do seem to be interested in the same areas, thanks for your help. Good luck with your trip back home. I'm going to North Devon at Whitsun hoping to find ancestors from way back - if not it's still a nice holiday!
