Hi
I'm in Canada. My son and I have been working on our family tree. Everything goes well on this side of the ocean, but as soon as my ancestors emigrate from Europe, I lose the trail.
We are definitely descendents of James Johnston (1759-1855) and Catherine (1765-1840) who emigrated from Leitrim Ireland to New Brunswick Canada. After that, we're stuck. I think Catherine's maiden name may have also been Johnstone. And I'm pretty sure that either James or Catherine has a parent who was a LLOYD. From other trees, I have seen the parents as JOHN JOHNSON and BRIDGET LLOYD, but no definite link
Does anyone know of a James Johnston who emigrated to Canada from Ireland in ~1780?
