West Lothian (Linlithgowshire) / Sheehan 1844 onwards missing from records

Trying to find out what happened or where they went.
Charles Corry Sheehan bpt 14/05/1844 (IGI)
Alfred Earnest Sheehan bpt 16/11/1846 (IGI) father HM Customs Comptroller Bo'ness died1848
mother Ann died Sept 1847.
1851 census  down as surname Scheen, staying with Robert White and family in Bo'ness. I cannot
find them on any other record in Scotland or England. One of their brothers Richard married and stayed in Bo'ness, the older brothers moved back to Maryport in Cumbria.
Can any one help?

Cumberland / flimby graveyard

This is a long shot, does Flimby have a grave yard cemetery for burials 1841-1851.

I am looking for a grave for Jonathan Irving b 1771, wife Elizabeth born 1768, son Jonathan b 1812 died at 8 days old.

The real interest in Jonathan, I am not having much luck with death certificates at the moment.

The more I am looking at this the less I think, Jonathan and possible George  came from Alston.
The only birth of Jonathan Irvin(g) was in Alston but I am now wondering if it should be Scotland.

From IGI I have found a Jonathan irving in Alston, about 1770. My Jonathan Irving appears in Flimby
as married to Elizabeth Bell 1799, and on 1841 census as birth 1771. I cannot find an earlier record for Jonathan in Flimby pre 1799 and presumption is that he could have come from Alston. Are there any other Irvings in Alston, I think a George Irving in FLimby may have been his brother but again no proof.

Any help would be appreciated as I am a long way from Carlisle records office.

Thank you so much for getting in touch, I have been searching for information on Eleanor for 3 years and I thought the trail had gone cold. I am her niece, she had 4 sisters and 1 brother. My cousins of which there are 4 still alive have very scanty  knowledge of her visiting and staying with her sister and a telegram which my father received saying she had been taken as a prisoner of war in France. everything else I have pieced together from newspapers, shipping records etc. I have one early photo of her dressed as nurse on a balcony in Paris. Do you remember a nephew visiting her on his way to teach in the Gilbert & Ellis Islands? Apparently he did not have a dinner jacket and I presume you or your father lent him one so that he could accompany the family to a concert. I can well understand why she stayed in America, you were her family and after the war things were very bleak in England, till about the 1960's. Leyland was a manufacturing town and except to see her sisters there would be really no life here to come back to.

A bit about me, I live in Yorkshire and found out that I had living relatives 2 years ago when I found I had a sister and several cousins. My father was Joseph Irving, Eleanor's brother. It has been exciting to be reunited with the Irving clan, my sister is 80  and has thoroughly enjoyed the information we have found out, a new nephew in Japan, gold miners in Australia in 1880's so Eleanor followed a family pattern through the years of leaving England and making a new life abroad.

I would  love to hear about her and what she was like. If you are able to scan any photographs in, we don't have any except the one pre-war.

Europe / De Ganay, Paris 1940's

I am looking for any information on Diane De Ganay, born 1920 to Comte Bernard De Ganay, Paris. I think one of the large banking families. He died 1940 at family home in Arachon. Diane went to USA in 1947 and returned there in 1948 to marry William kitchel. On the passenger list she is down as divorced. Information on first marriage, any children?

Any ideas what would have happened to English employee, Eleanor Hill Irving, after 1940, we think she was interred by Vichy goverment, but where. Are there any lists?

Any help appreciated.

Now this is really interesting, I had found the later shipping dates for Eleanor but not the 1948. I wonder what Diane was doing in USA in 1947? I am pretty sure that Dianes birth name was de Ganay as it ties up with the records I have found in France, I wonder if her previous marriage was to an American or a Frenchman?

Unfortunately in europe the post war records are such a mess, or were destroyed.

Thank you for this, I have written to Dianes son so who knows I may be able to fill in some gaps.

Thank you for this, I had hoped Eleanor had accomapined her. I have a missing 14 years 1940 to 1954, I can only presume she went back to France after the war and was a nanny for other family members.
