Dorset Lookup Requests / Re: Sarah Foot
« on: Saturday 27 May 06 13:37 BST (UK)  »
Yes, thank you... I found her on the Dorset OPC site as you said... although there isn't much for 1851, I was lucky that she was one of the Foots who was registered!

Many thanks again x

Oh!!!! Thats strange...

The information regarding William came from his step-daughter.... I'll let her know what you found and see if there is anything else to be discovered, in case it rings any bells... thank you for finding the William in Coventry... it might explain why I couldn't find him myself in Portsmouth!!

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Stennings of Portsmouth 1910 lookup please!!
« on: Wednesday 14 September 05 11:04 BST (UK)  »
A weird request I know, but I am looking for my husband's grandfather, William Harry Stenning and his parents.  I have tried every avenue of investigation I know.  :'(

William Harry was born in 1906 in Portsmouth,  he had an older sister Violet, also born in Portsmouth.  The family is 90% sure their father was also named William.

William Stenning, H, M, ??,
Mother ???
Violet Stenning, D, U, 6/7,
William Harry Stenning, S, U, 4,

Any help at all would be very gratefully received.

Kindest regards

Ruth

Very strange request I know,

Does anyone have a parish register for Creech Bottom, Church Knowle Dorset for the early 1900's?  I've found a few Crumpler relatives there, but cannot seem to find 10 more that were definitely there at that time.

Joshua Crumpler, H, M, 45, Ag Lab
*Mother* ???
George, S, 5?,
Alfred, S, 6?,
Charles, S, 7?,
Tom, S,
Jessie, D,
Bess, D,
Daisy, D,
Lil, D,
Minnie, D,
Andrew, S,
??????, S,
??????, S,

Sorry it's not much, members of the family have trouble remembering everyone, as there were so many.  Any help at all would be very gratefully received.

Kindest regards

Hi Gamone,

Maybe you should, I'd never even heard of Belchalwell until now, and I lived in Dorset for 29 years!!  There could be a lot of interest.

« on: Friday 19 August 05 22:32 BST (UK)  »
Sorry to be a pain,

I am looking for the Foot family in Belchalwell (Blandford), Dorset in 1805, I don't have a lot to go on, understatement of the year, but I really hope someone can help me out.

Unknown, H, M, (possibly also named William, as firstborn sons are usually named after their father)
Unknown, W, M, (possibly Elizabeth, at a guess)
William, S, U, 2, born in 1803 in County.

Sorry I can't provide more, I don't have any more

Kindest regards

Ruth
