Going back to your original question- my mum is 95 born and bred in Salisbury. She remembers a Prospect Terrace in St Pauls Road . Had a look on FindMyPast and it is there in 1901 just wondering if it should be Prospect rather than Pleasant. I don't have a subscription but perhaps someone could look it up just to see who was living there - just a long shot.

Richard-
Your marriage date cannot be right if Isaac was born 1660-1670.
There is a marriage in Corfe Mullen 28/5/1698 between a Isaac Hoby and Breget Hussey . Not sure if that can equate to Margaret

Wow - thank you for doing all of that. I will work through them and look at 1911.
In 1901 she was in service in Sunningwell in Berkshire where she probably met the father of her first child!

Yes I have and she does describe herself as a widow.
I think having already had one illegitimate child she tried to hide the fact she had another.
Kathleen was my grandmother and she knew nothing at all about her father.
She was just told he had died when she was very young but she did not even know his first name and Elizabeth never spoke about him to her.
Probably because he was not real and nan did not have any brothers or sisters apart from Albert who she regarded as her brother.
But I will keep looking at variations of Oborne which are many!!! ::)
Thank you for your valuable help.
