Hi there sorry to jump onto your thread... Louisa stanton born 1818 in hill street walsall is my 4x great nan daughter of richard stanton.....for many many years i have been trying to figure out what happened to him as i couldnt confirm.
how ever i have been doing the ancestry dna tests for 4 years now on my self andfamily members, i recently tested my 1st cousin 2x removed ( my grandmothers full 1st cousin) louisa stanton is her 2x great nan.
i found she had a strong dna match which a relative whos ancester was ambrose stanton born in 1791 in tipton son of richard stanton and sarah, so younger full brother of richard stanton born 1785. and i found ambrose in 1851 census living in hill street walsall aged 59 born in 59 a spur maker ! which is the same occuption ive seen of the "walsall richard stanton" and same street.

what i think is the tipton richard stanton born 1785 is the father of the walsall family 1810-1818 whos wife was mary fletcher who died in 1820, maybe the children stayed with family in walsall and he re married pheobe in 1827

Also one of the witnesses on maria stantons born 1814 married in 1839 was a john fletcher and my 4x great grandmother louisa stanton

i have found several dna links to richard stanton of tipton and my family is deffonatly from louisa of walsall born 1818

perhaps the older walsall richard stanton didnt have children, i have a death cert of a richard stanton aged 80 years who died in great berry street wolverhampton a greengrocer, but in 1833 i found he was a key grinder

Thankyou for that . She had a younger sister Clara who lived in Egham from 1886/7 so she must of been visiting as she had always lived in bristol.
Looks as though she is holding a photo in the older photo too
