My thanks to ReadyDale also. However, how do we access the occupant's address? Perhaps I am missing something.

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Middle Names in England early 19th century

hi Familyskeletons
just an idea, but not sure if it applied in late 18th century.
In the catholic religion when children  were confirmed they took on the name of a saint. Many people adopted that as a middle name. however, just as people who have a middle name now, never ever  choose to use it, perhaps your ancestor exercised that choice.

according to South Tyneside marriage search site,
Sarah E Asselbrough married Francis Brown 11 April 1914 at St Mary CE , Whitburn. this is in South Shields registration district. Sorry I omitted date before.
hope this helps.

Boo has beaten me to it. However, Sarah is recorded as Sarah E  ASSELBROUGH, different spelling, a common recording fault.

Northumberland / Re: Peace or Pearce Street Newcastle

hi probably not what we are looking for but there is a Pease avenue in Newcastle. It leads off West road (A186) in the Benwell area west of Newcastle.
Looking on google maps the houses are obviously post war or 30s style so not sure  what housing was there prior to that or even if there was a Pease st. then.
Apologies to Stan if you have already tried that name.

Durham Lookup Requests / Re: Baaptism Eva COLLINS 1916

Hello Tom,

I think that in 1916 the registration district for Sacriston was Chester-le-Street so it is still likely that the wedding and possible baptism was in Sacriston.  Other RC's might be able to give names of churches. If you had the marriage cert it will name the church which may be the one used for the baptism.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage, St. Andrews, Newcastle
« on: Monday 30 July 18 19:31 BST (UK)  »
hi Linda,
sorry I'm not able to personally do a look up for you but
The records are held by Tyne Wear archives at Newcastle.
do you know which St Andrews, there are two in Newcastle; one is CE the other is RC?
Also there are often discrepancies with transcriptions and misspelling.
However as you know the date of  marriage you will avoid a lot of searching.
Perhaps someone could do a lookup for you if you are unable, or you could purchase the marriage certificate from GRO.
cheers
