London and Middlesex / Help needed to find Death Thomas Laidlaw
« on: Friday 09 March 12 18:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hello.  I am looking for some help and/or advise on locating the death of Thomas Laidlaw around 1955/56 ish.

Thomas Laidlaw (b) 8 October 1910 at Blantyre, Lanarkshire, Scotland
Spouse - Bridget Docherty (m) 28 April 1934 at Coatbridge Lanarkshire, Scotland
Mother - Mary McDonald (aka Marion McDonnell) (d) 14 Jan 1912 Lanarkshire, Scotland
Father - Thomas Laidlaw (d) 29 Oct 1919 Lanarkshire, Scotland

The only information I have is that Thomas Laidlaw left the family home in Scotland after 1946 and went to London.   He is believed to have died in the Poplar area and is buried in a Pauper's grave.  My father born in 1939 says he was about 17/18 when the family were informed of Thomas death.  I have searched the IGI and also Genes etc and can find no record of it.   Thanks for your help.

I have checked this record and the districts all match up.  I also doubled checked and the only marriage to the parents listed in the certificate come up with the same marriage certificate that I have under David McDonald to Agnes McQuade.  It looks like a winner.  Thank you so much for your help MonicalL.  Now just to find David and Agnes ...... the search goes on lol.

Lanarkshire / Cant find birth for Mary Laidlaw (nee)McDonald Hamilton - COMPLETED
« on: Friday 02 March 12 23:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi.  New to this so please forgive if I do this wrong.  I am trying to find information regarding Mary Laidlaw nee McDonald.  The only information I have for her is the following:

Married Thomas Laidlaw on 30 December 1900 in Blantrye.  According to her marriage certificate, she was 26 at time of marriage and living at 17 Park Street in Blantrye.  Her parents are listed as David McDonald and Agnes McDonald (nee McQuade) who I beleive married in Lanark on 13 june 1873.   I have found a listing in the 1881 Census which states she was age 7 and born in Hamilton.  I am pretty sure this is correct family.

I can find no record for a birth for Mary.  I was wondering if anybody could help me or give me any idea where else to look.  Thanks in advance for your help
