Thank you - I have also not yet found her - she did pre-decease him as I found him as widow in census.

I agree - in the 1861 census George and Jane are listed as children of James and Elizabeth!

Thanks everyone - we did join the dots!

Now to figure some other relationships! Intrigue  :)

I have not left, just struggling to ‘post’ my posts!

I did purchase marriage certificate. There are no parents listed for either - possible because they were of ‘age’.

Witnesses were George? And Jane Weatherald - here is this name again (see below).

Goodness me - some great detective work.

This has spurred me on to purchase more credits to try find more documentation and unravel.

Thanks everyone. Will keep you posted.

Thanks so much.

I know Alexander came to South Africa (never found record of his journey however).

Just always draw a blank on Henry - I am starting to suspect he did not survive childhood.

Thanks for your input and information.

Jean

That would be awesome. And any related information on her Samuel (Sammy).  I never found any information further back than his Dad also Samuel, born 1799.

Every generation a boy was called Samuel - sadly my great grandfather (although he had 2 wonderful boys) was a dark sheep! He left a wife in UK and promptly married here in South Africa.

I am available to follow up on any of your South African queries :)

Thank you so much!

How wonderful. How did you manage this? I do not have this kind of access (or rather I do not know how to access) this kind of information.
