HI

I am trying to find a Agnes McGhee born c1878 - parents John McGhee and Martha Anderson - I think that she was born in port glasgow.

this is according to her Marriage cert. 13/3/1899 to william Docherty  however on the 1881 census it looks like her father and mother are not married. and are living with marthas  parents. could this mean that she was out of wedlock when she was born,? can any one advise - please and thank you.

hi pat

Thank you for your comments, when i first started family history I came on here and a few very kind people helped me, we managed to find edward waterman in 1818 but i have not managed to find his parents, I dont feel that we are duplicating things, but if you feel that i am i am sorry.

I find it hard to explain what i am looking for as i am stuck.

from this site people have given me sincere help - which has not be duplicated apart from the first part which is edward waterman 1818 layham, its his parents and brothers and sisters that i am looking for

thanks for you help in the past

Kind regards

Tracey

thank you so much for this information, it would make sense, and be around the right dates,  but i can be sure if it is the right person or not, is there anyway  i can get some information with regards to brothers sisters etc.

I am very grateful for this information and well done on getting this for me - the Edward waterman  that died in the pauper house is the man i am talking about and his birth i have est at being around 1818 - it is his parents i am trying to get, he appears on the 1841 census as Edward warterman married to Martha knock in hintlesham. his son Samuel is my 3rd gt grand father .

n the 1841 census it also shown another family of wartermans living next door to  Edward, so i can only think that they could well have been brothers, but without a birth certificate or census i seem to be lost.

Many thanks for all your help

Tracey
