Hi Seaweed, thanks i have spoken to TNA online chat on the website, and as i dont know which he served they cant help me, I can however send a form and £30, but like you say they say its not a fast service, i may have to bite the bullet and do this, when i can get to library and download, print off the forms, unfortunately im house bound till the madness ends due to a heart condition, once again thanks for your help

Hi seaweed, many thanks for your reply, can you tell me if the uniforms are the same, i dont know when he signed up he was at home with family 1939 census working locally, thats as much as i know at the moment, im waiting for  a break through on this unfortunately no family members left to ask either, i will take a look at links you have given me, i have contact NA kew, they say that the likely hood of findin anything in Merchant records is slim as they dont have many,i tried posting picture on Photo section on here but to small for them to do anything with and i dont have original to use either. I have  tried all military records on Ancestry also zilch found,  i have sent messages to several Naval website but no response, im not sure what else to do xx

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Re: John Parker b1793 Preston By Hedon,East Yorks

Hi Keyboard, thanks for your message im not sure who the benjamin b1824 preston is in 1851 census youve mentioned, unless one of mary's daughters or richard has a daughter from somewhere, and they have married another parker i dont know how a son in law would be with them, as we now no  william b1821 to mary and john parker is with his mother and new husband Richard crawforth in 1841 census, but william is married and living in Bridlington before emmigrating to NZ with his young family in 1851 census.
Elijah b 1825 preston i dont have him after his birth till 1861 census in Preston Yorkshire working on a Thrashing machine, so it maybe the wrong name on 1851 census maybe, i do have a benjamin born  1801 to William Parker and Mary nettleton, its not him hes married working in a mill in Hull.
But the granddaughter Eliza hesk could be Mary and john parkers daughter  harriet's child she married a Hesk, i will do some digging
Take care let me kbnow if you find anything on this Benjamin which is clearly written so im not sure
thanks again
debbie
