South Africa / Braamfontein Cemetery Germiston.
« on: Monday 20 February 23 11:16 GMT (UK)  »
I have a relative who died in 1958 in Germiston and was cremated at Braamfontein Cemetery on 22th September 1958 according to the death certificate from Familysearch .
It states that his ashes were " taken " but doesn't say by whom .
Does anyone know how I could find out more information,
Thank you.
Also are there any census that were taken during 1920 and 1950.

Just googled about the census which weren't taken until 1996 .

Hi Anthony,

Thank you so much for doing this .
By the sounds of it it was typical Glasgow weather .
I live in London so that's why I couldn't visit the cemetery but am hoping to come up to Glasgow perhaps April/May , when the weather hopefully is a bit warmer.
I hope to visit the Mitchell library when I am there and if I have time maybe the cemetery .
Is the Cemetery in or near London Road ? as that is where a lot of my ancestors lived.

It looks to be a very well kept cemetery.

Hello,

I wonder if I could take you up on the offer to find headstones .
A lot of my ancestors were buried at Dalbeth/St.Peters but the only one I can find with a Plot number is Henry Wright who was buried on 20/3/1922.
Plot number is 6561 Lair 255, Section 16, Division W .
Just curious to find if there are any other relatives buried in the same lair,
I don't live in Scotland so any help would be great,
thank you

Does anyone know if there were 2 Kirk Streets in Glasgow in the 1880's.
My ancestors lived in Kirk Street , Calton in the 1880's but when I googled Kirk street it shows one in the Gorbals district as well.

I called my youngest daughter my perfect little surprise, she was born 19 years after my first daughter.
I do like late lamb though, very sweet.

The only Bridget I can see that might fit was born 1888 in Coatbridge , possibly the" Bridge " the you mentioned.
