My cousin is clearing out her fathers house, he looked after the affairs of a friend Arthur Lee, and found a lot of family history information. This gentleman had no children of his own. She has a framed document from Arthur's time in the navy which records his passing the equator for the first time  in 1964 and a letter signed by Prince Philip, with whom he served in the navy. There are also family photographs and a letter form Philip dated 1947 when he visited Burnley and spoke again to Arthur and introduced him and Marjorie (wife) to the Queen.

Arthur was born in 1910 in Burnley, married Marjory Mosley in 1937 in  Burnley and died in Lytham St Anne' s in 1995. Arthurs ancestors all appear to have come from Burnley, his family names are;- LEE, SIMPSON, HOYLE, HARRISON.

Marjory's side of the family names are MOSLEY, WHARTON AND ALDERSON (from Burnley and Muker in Yorkshire)

My cousin also has the following  birth, death and marriage certificates  and wills as follows:-

She would like to pass it all on to a relative or anybody that would be interested, rather than throwing it all away.

Marriage: James Alderson and Isabella Wharton 12.6.1869
Charles Mosley and Isabella Alderson 14.5.1907 - Marjorie's father and mother
James Lee and Ellen Simpson 2.9.1909 - Arthur's father and mother
Tom Whitham and Ellen Lee 16.6.1937 - Arthur's mother remarried
Arthur Lee and Marjorie Mosley 29.6.1937

Wills
Marjorie's grandparents Isabella Wharton (born 1846) - parents Titus and Diana Wharton - we have a copy of Titus will. Also wills for James Lee died 28.1.1936 (will dated 27.3.1936 - is this possible?), Ellen Witham died 9.11.1953 (Arthur's mother, will dated 5.12.1953), Dinah Alderson died 14.2.1961 ( Marjorie's mother, will dated 23.3.1961).

Births
Ellen Simpson 14.3.1882 ( maiden name Harrison)
James Lee 22.5.1882, son of James Lee and Eve, formerly Hoyle
Isabella Wharton 3.11.1946, daughter of Titus and Dinah
Robert Alderson 1.2.1885, James and Isabella Wharton, formerly Hoyle
Marjorie Mosley 4.1.1909, daughter of Charles and Isobella Mosley, formerly Alderson
Arthur Lee 26.3.1910

Deaths
James Alderson 25.8.1903
Isobella Alderson 15.1.1927
Isobella Ogden 28.1.1952 (born 1884)
Ellen Witham 9.11.1953
Miles Thomas Alderson 13.1.1964
Marjorie Lee 4.12.1988
Arthur Lee 16.7.1995

I feel sure that there must be relatives somewhere and would like to find any who might be interested. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the info on TT parents and the tip about his fathers will, I shall try and get a copy of that, maybe he inherited his money from his father. It is Thomas's (Junr) sister Elizabeth that married into my family and her son was the main beneficiary of TT's vast will. So I am intrigued as to where his money came from.
If you do find the advert I would love to see it.
Thanks again
Jeanne

Yes your right my Thomas would only be 14, too young to even be an exors. The bargin and Sale, two indentures and mortgage are to do with my Thomas. He did marry widow  Ann Ward.
Do you know what the Indenture of lease for 1 year, ref CoC1/2/4/3 is about please?
I shall have to visit Lincs Archives.

Yes thanks, I have his will, and also seen the Chancery document created by the death of the main beneficiary of his will. I shall order the other will in case it was his father.

I am trying to find out a little more about Thomas Timberland 1725-1815. He was a gent from the Bail of Lincoln. I have his PCC will 24 May 1816. I know he married twice by licence,
Anne Ward 17 Dec 1754
Ann Outram 12 Nov 1777.
I wondered if anyone could look at the licences in Lincs Archive and see what he did for a living please? How did he become a gent? What did he do? He wasn't a lawyer or doctor. His will is fascinating, it even describes which pall beards wear gloves, have hat scarves, who should have mourning rings. He left money to the poor of 4 parishes, the felons in gaol, money to a school, and asked for the bells of the cathedral to be rung and the church to be repainted in yellow! He was buried in East Torrington.
Yet I can find almost nothing about him. Can anyone help with the look up please?
