It's a long time since you posted this request, so you may have the info you were seeking by now, but if not this might help...
I don't live in Kentmere but was there in May and, poking round the churchyard, I spotted a CWGC headstone. It was for John Rutherford Barkway and, having an idle interest in WW2 RAF history, I took a photo and thought I'd look up the CWGC record some day.
I finally got round to uploading photos from the trip tonight, and saw the photo of John's grave. A quick google on his name then brought me to this site and to your question.
So, the dedication on the headstone is fairly simple and is as follows:

J. R. Barkway
Royal Air Force
8th May 1945 Age 46

of Greenhead Kentmere
"Steadfast unto death"
