Thanks Annie.
So was the distinction being made between "order certificate" and "view record" depending on the year of the record? Is 75 years the cutoff?

Could this be the birth record for Moira? Her mother's maiden name was MOODY and her grandmother's name was MARION.
SWAN, MARION MOODY; Female; 1952; 673/1 110; Reg district Whitburn.

I am not able to view the certificate as I am being asked to "buy credits.' I posted this query for a cousin who is new to family tree research, so I am hoping she will follow up with the information we've found.
Thanks

Thank you Forfarian.
Since I wrote that yesterday, I did sign into ScotlandsPeople and was able to see information about Stewart Swan Senior and Elizabeth McNeil Moody and confirm the findings of Rosinish in this thread. I have suggested to my cousin that she buy certificates to ensure we're on the right track and then delve deeper.
I now see trees on An****ry with the same individuals.
I would still like to learn more about Moira Swan (probably 1953-1971) who received a liver transplant.

Thanks for the tip Rosinish.
Our focus is really on Stewart's early days and his parents. I'm helping a cousin who is new to research and I think it wise to order just a couple of certs at a time to make sure we are going down the right line.

Thanks very much Rosinish.
I have logged into ScotlandsPeople and managed to find many useful records without ordering the certificate.
I have added that information to my tree on An****ry.

Thank you scotmum.
"I believe Stewart had a sister who I think was called Moira who - I’ve been told - was one of the first in Scotland to have a liver transplant when she was around 19 years old and unfortunately it wasn’t successful and she later died."
Moira would have been born in the 1950s and died about 1975. I am surprised that I can't find anything with a "google" search.

Understood. I edited my previous post to show that wives 2 and 4 are still alive and removed their names..
Wife # 3 Lorraine died about December 2013. We know virtually nothing about Wife # 1.
Both of Stewart's parents died by the time Stewart was in his early 20s, so early 1980s.
Can we get any information about Stewart Swan (Senior) and Elizabeth McNeil Moody?
Thank you
Richard
