Thank You rosie99  & Lady  Di, I think you have found the right family here, so Emma has died that is why Edward came to Australia without her. Also didn't  know they had a son  sadly he died to &   never came with his father.  Great work :)

Thank you Cando & Jamjar.
I knew he was a retired British Navy Captain & lived in Vaucluse so thought he might have had a headstone.

I have a Walter Thomas Stearn who died 8th October 1957 & his wife Mary Hetta Stearn who died in 1955. They had a daughter Florence Mary (Scholer) who died 24th May 1951 & wondered if they are all buried together.
I was wondering if there is  someone going to the Waverley Cemetery in Sydney? that might be able to check if there is a headstone if there is to photograph & email it to me.

I have contacted the Waverley Cemtery who tell me Walter Thomas is buried Allotment 2622 Extension A, Division Select, Section 6.
They have also told me the info below.
We can certainly provide allotment maps which can help locate particular sites, as well as photographs of allotments, however there is a small fee for these services.

We cannot advise whether there is a monumental marker for this allotment, however, for a fee of $25.00  Per allotment (0.6% surcharge for credit card), we can arrange for photographs of the allotment to be taken and emailed to you. Please note, that we cannot guarantee  there will be a memorial or inscription on the allotment.

And for a fee of A$10.25 (0.6% surcharge for credit card) per allotment / or deceased when documentation is requested (in instances of multiple searches we can combine the information, if they are in the same section, which reduces the fee as multiple maps would not be required). The fee includes completion of the requested search and the supply of cemetery record, section and allotment maps which will include the provision of allotment details regarding the requested individual(s).

I hope I am not asking to big a request
Many thanks for any assistance
Ellen from Perth

I found a passenger list for the "Kestral" leaving Port of Fremantle to Sydney NSW 31st  March 1866.
I looked for the Stearn name but no luck, then thought maybe they changed their name (because he was a convict ) so looked for a  William & Catherine & found them under the name of Fibbs with a William has to be their son William born 1866 but never been able to find where he was born, either here in WA or on board ship? I have contact with William Jnr  grandson who lives in Adelaide who has never been able to find his birth either. Thank you for suggesting looking up the"Kestral"
