Hello Goldie 61
Your message about David and Elenor was very helpful. They have appeared to be relevant for some time but didn' fit and now you have accounted for them and Nicholas who died in Stepney.  Thank you.
I agree, finding useful records gets harder for seventeenth and sixteenth centuries.
The records you referred in the second part of your message to agree with my work so that's a good thing.
Now I have to connect Nicholas 1571 to Nicholas 1607 more certainly.
Tally ho and more fun because it is.

I have searched for 14 months.  I have Nicholas Emmett b1607 Dean Prior married to Agnes Hoare 31 Mar 1643 St Sndrews Plymouth. Son Richard b 3 May1647 Harberton.
Problem I have Nicholas d 29 Jul 1653, baptism 20 April 1652 in St Dunstans Stepney Middlx.  I can't sort that out.
Secondly, I have another Nicholas b. 17 Dec 1571 Ugborough shown in Parish Register (microfilm) father William (Willi) Emmett d 1601 mother Isetae.
Is Nicholas b.1571 connected to Nicholas b. 1607.  I have made no further progress

Hi Trish1120
Yes, Kaitlin's wikitree entry was where I saw the brief reference to Daniel Emmett.  My family search is based in Devon, but I rememebered someone was asking for help with Daniel .  The trouble is that I can't rememeber where I read it.  I agree, Daniel was a whole lot older than Ann.
My problem is with trying to prove that Nicholas Emmett b 1607 is father to Richard Emmett b1643 and son of Nicholas Emmett b1571. I have seen copy of Ugborough Parish Register that proves Willi was father of Nicholas Emmett b1571.  We keep working away inspite of Lockdown.

Hi Carol
I am sorry if I have caused any problems.  I understand about replying to problems.  Unfortunately, I recently read, I don't remember which site, that someone is seeking this information.  I didn't know how to to make the fact known that I have data on Daniel Emmett to this person who may use Root Chat.
Any advice is more than welcome.
Regards Matanzas

I enjoy reading your messages Rosie99 and DOB7 with the knowledge and skill that you demonstrate and I am very grateful for your help.
As I have read many times one doesn't always get the same result from a site each time you enter the same data or, indeed, get a result at all.
It is all to easy to take data from someones tree because it agrees with one's own.  Roots Chat has shown up my errors there for which I am grateful.  I must admit I had difficulty deciphering the Latin script in the Parish entry let alone translating it.
I shall now spend some time improving my research and thank you both again

Hi DOB7
Very interesting.  First time I have had Latin appearing in my results.  What was you source spo I can explore further.

Hi Rosie99
Your are quite right in your correction.  I have looked at Family Search again.  Annoyingly, Ancestry  cites David as the father.  I'll keep at it, but, whatever, I can't seebeyond this point.
