;DYes,my husband and I have all that info, but were trying to find them or their parents in Scotland.
Have not found any trace of them.My mother had her geneology traced back to Isabella of France,so he thought maybe we could trace his family far back too,but I am saying-don't think so.
I just wondered if anyone had any ideas....we have tried everything :-[

:o Their name has been Reid,as far back as I have ever been researching.Do not think I have ever seen the name come up.They are highlanders too:)They were from Scotland,William Reid and Mary Ann ( Grant)They came to Nova Scotia on the Hector, and later, the families settled in the Musquodobit valley area. They have been in this area ever since, with some going to Truro, and Colchester County:)

:o They were my grandparents and I still miss Christine today. She was the only grandparent I ever knew and we spent hours together. She taught me every gardening/nature trick I know. ;D
Thank you for the work you have done.Am writing all this up for my father now as I know all this, and it is going to make him SO happy. His health is not that great now and I thought what a gift I could give him,if I could find out what he has always wanted to know. You really have no idea how much. ;D
Your aunt ia very obviously related to my dad. 8) 8) 8)

;D I had them written down but cannot locate it.....and recognize the name Mancel.....
because always heard the name around when I was a little kid...so know that's the right bunch.
Do not wanna get confused cause am trying to put it all together for my dad for Easter....... ;D
Already know their firstborn son was my dad's dad.Killed when his horses landed on him and crushed him.Terrible accident from what I have always heard.
Thanks for this information.......sheesh-I tried and could not find much on my own.
Bless you all for your research for me.I gathered this a  HUGE family and was always told for a reunion years back, they ended up closing down a whole town because there were SOmany relatives :o
Always thought that was funny!

;DThanks....I read through it, and it sure does seem like the same family group, but cannot find yet,a list of Charles and Hannah's children...I know there were many.Even my dad remembers the connection to being in the woodcutting business, because he did it with his brothers when he was a kid..they used to help dad in the woods before he was killed in the accident.
What an interesting story of pioneers  ;D

Yes,he was.I figure that is why dad does not know alot about him.....basic.
He had just turned 8 on December 22nd,and dad was killed 2 days later Christmas Eve,driving a horse pulled sled with a piano for kids at the hospital.Cab driver driving drunk hit him and his horses fell on him and killed him:( I heard this and thought that was so sad.
Waugh is my side and Reid is my husband's side.Interesting to us,we found that some long time ago in Scotland,A Reid married a Waugh,we thought it was cool to put our notes together and see what else we could find out. Thanks for the help.Maybe we are distant relations, your aunt,my dad?

Everything is right on right up to David Reid being a carpenter.
We know his parents were William Reid and Mary Grant. The other dates would tell me they had to be born in Scotland and maybe even married there too. Have to be the original people who settled in Nova Scotia.
Have searched through every county,PEI and even Quebec.Nothing.
Although my father in law(70) says his father told him that HIS father spoke with an accent and spoke gaelic.Interesting.......but that's my spot on the page. ;D
