I can vaguely remember being very ill with 'Asian Flu' in 1957.

I wonder if that's given me any immunity?

Romilly.

You probably do have immunity.

Yes, Albuera 1811, Peninsular war. A very bloody battle conducted by General William Carr Beresford. Beresford was also trainer and commander of the Portuguese Army, and very good they were too. Infantry wore brown jackets.

Not sure if another aspect has been covered here. Only way 'herd immunity' can be achieved, is to let the virus run it's course. Govts.are trying to flatten out the curve of infection so the medical services can cope.

There were many coloured people in the Country as Youngtug points out. Can't quantify as had British names. Subject has come up before. I posted a pic. of R Bucks Militia musicians incl black musicians c1795. Most, if not all regiments both regular and Yeomanry and Militia had some  black musicians in their bands.

I could post a pic. of the kettle drummer of the Royal Horse Guards in State Dress, black, c1750, but won't.

I used to take my mother up to Uffington to visit Queenie in the 80's. Most of the inhabitants were Saunders family members 30 odd years ago. My grandmother was Florence Saunders 1878 to 1953. Packers and Fullers were associated families. Saunders cousins were over here April last year on holiday.

I have partial Tree.

Super photograph, he wears battledress, but with shirt and tie which means soon after WWII. Looks like he volunteered pre War by a few years. Not easy to age, could be 30. He has shoulder title and formation sign, but not visible.

2nd and 3rd definitely look like 1870's.
