I wonder if anyone out there could help with the following?
I am doing research on the pit village of Haydock nr, St. Helens and came across the following name.

Revereand D.K. Riddette/s

he was given a gold watch by the miners of Haydock in 1894, was there some connection with the Wood pit explosion some 16yrs before?
thanks Steve.

Hi Raflad,
thanks for the info, regarding my research its still ongoing but very slow ( hitting the wall all the time) finding out anything regarding RAF Haydock seems to be hard work.
I am researching/gathering any info about Haydock itself, so any photos at all will be of help.

Anyway back to RAF Haydock, the lane outside the camp was called Haydock lane and as you know the camp itself was split in half by this road. the camp has now been completely demolished apart from one small area were the officers used to live, this is named Avery Close. The whole of the camp has been built on ( new houses etc).

I would appreciate anything at all which come to mind regarding  RAF Haydock as already mentioned its hard going.

Regards
Steve.

Andy,

thanks very much for your hard work, it is very much appreciated. this medal was given to me recently by my brother who found it as a boy ( many yrs ago). I have only just started to collect medals and I am amazed at how much info one can find out about them.

Thanks for your help,
the medal and writing on the rim is in  perfect order,   I was looking down the line of him being in an Irish Reg, but the mystery is solved.  :)

first of all,
thanks for your help, much appreciated.
Sorry to say but the part of Millfield lane I am interested in is no longer standing, I am pretty local myself so know the area. If you come up from Kenyon's Lane,  291 Millfield Lane used to be the first house on the right, there are still a few houses at the top on the left. The only info I do have is that my Grandma died in 1966 and she lived at 291, Millfield Lane, the houses on the right dwindled away after this being finally demolished in ?????
