Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: lost Hannah Hird nee Butterfield

Please post full 1851 details as you give no info re Thomas's birthyear or birthplace for future searching

Have asked moderator to move post to W Yorks board
Thanks, the moderator moved it at your request. I think though that that putting it there effectively stops people from helping with the request. Yes they are in W Yorkshire but i'm looking for them not anything particularly landmark based.  People as a rule will tend to search specific boards for specific things rather than a generalised help search which is what I thought I was asking for. Thank you for your comments though.

Hello, sorry for my poor information giving.
Hannah was born 9/12/1820 & baptised 23/3/1822 Kirkgate chapel Bradford, daughter of Thomas Butterfield & Sarah Wood. on the 1841 census she is living with her father Thomas & younger brother Benjamin in Brafdford Moor (1841 census Piece1293Book1Folio22 )
30/6/1844 she married Thomas Hird, St Peter Bradford Catherdral.  1851 she & Thomas are living in Bowling looks like 277 Queen st. She is baptised again in St Peter Bradford cathedral on 1/1/1854 here it mentions she is the wife of Thomas Hird & confirms she was previously Butterfield.
Thomas Hird was born in 1817 Bingley according to the 1851 census & marriage certificate.

Hope this helps make things clearer.

She is on the 1841 & 1851 census. They had 1 child Walton Hird 1845-1848. She also was baptised again as an adult C0fE 1/1/1854. Then she vanishes as does Thomas.

Thanks. It was a complicated relationship with Eva taking up with Frederick & having children before Wiliam had died, it would appear he abandoned around the time of the war.

still no sign of Henry(Harry) though :-(

The Common Room / Re: Family Of Alfred Vanhouse Brown (1873-1951)

Looking for family of Alfred Vanhouse Brown.Born in 1873.Son Of Frederick Bown & Mary Agnes Tatham.Educated at Merchant Taylor's School,Northwood and Queen's College,Oxford. He married Margaret Helen Maclean.

His issue:-

i) Isobel Evelyn Brown(1912-1999).

ii) Bernard Alfred Maclean Brown(?-1945).
Not looked into the Brown side but the Tatham side pretty much ended of Marys 3 siblings, 1 never married & had no children, 1 had 1 child who had one child who did not have any children, & the last sibling the only male was last heard of in Cape Town in 1888.  Have you read the book from Mary?  Its a very endearing book illustrated by her sister.

The Common Room / looking for Henry G Savory 1916
« on: Sunday 01 November 20 02:02 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone help me find Henry G Savory born York 1916 to Eva Crosby. His biological father was more than likely Frederick Gilbert hence the G in his surname. I can see him on the 1939 register as Harry living with Eva & Frederick he's going by Gilbert then & his DOB is 16/11/1916. I can't see him after that.

Also if by any chance anyone can decipher the last Gilbert on the 1939 register i would be very grateful.
Thanks  :)
