Hi,
I know this is Ann old post, and guess you have gone through the brick wall by now! However if this helps...in my husband's family I have a Margaret Dover, born 6 August 1802, daughter of John Dover and Jane. This is as far as I have for now with this name, but wonder if there is some connection, as the family were weavers, this would connect the areas. Also there's a Strong Quaker link, so there may well be different records to research, albeing much more informative than the usual sources.
This may well not help at all, but much closer connection than Norwich.
Good luck
Helen

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: St. Michael's Church Graveyard in Cockerham
« on: Sunday 07 May 17 20:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi Randers,
We have just been to Cockerham church today. It is lovely and in the middle of a field. We were looking for Jonathan Harrison too. I however have his birth as 1751 but it seems to be the same person as married to Ann Taylor, we found some Taylor's in Elell burial ground near Galgate, too but not matched up yet.
Seems we are related, as my husband's 3rd GG mother is Ellen Harrison (who married a William Farren) daughter of the above Jonathan and born in Cockerham 1799. I note you say the Harrison's are Quakers as he has Quaker Harrison's in another branch, and I feel they must be linked somewhere! The joys of family trees!
I wonder where your link fits in and it would be brilliant if we could compare, we still live in Kendal so if we could help at all for local searches we would be only too happy,
Best Wishes

Westmorland Lookup Requests / Re: For Woodthorpegirl - look up please
« on: Tuesday 21 March 17 16:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I read Woodthorpegirl's post with interest. James Studholme and Isabella Hoggarth are my 4th great grandparents, so I guess we are related, I am currently looking at this branch and have the Hoggarth branch going back to 1731. This is a confusing trail however and wonder if we could compare notes?
Note this is an old post but here's hoping

I am becoming TERRIBLY confused with two William Dinsdale in my family tree.
The first is William, born 1875, son of Francis S Dinsdale (1845-1895) and Mary Kearton (1852-1904)
The other is William Dinsdale 1873, son of John Dinsdale 1840-1902)and Mary Parkin (1836-1899)
as both these Williams were born in Newbiggin, I am not sure which one married Grace Dinsdale 1873, who is the daughter of Thomas Dinsdale (1840-1917) and Dorothy Percival (1845-1889), I have their children. OR....is she the daughter of Stephen Dinsdale 1844. And Elizabeth Webster(1848-1887). Both these Graces were born in Thoralby around 1873.
All these families are in my tree...
If both Williams married both Graces, which one had the children Elizabeth, 1900, john 1901, Francis,1903 and Robert, 1904.
I am aware this is a very confusing puzzle, but would be very grateful if you could shed any light on this at all, I seem to be going around in circles.
Many Thanks in Anticipation

Hi,
I have a John Dinsdale, 1779-1855, he is my 5th great grandfather. I have been unable to get further back and wonder if he was a brother of your relative ? I have his father's marrying a Betty Blythe,  but this information is sketchy. My 5th GGF was married to Elizabeth Fawcatt in Aysgarth in 1799, he was born in Buttersett, so the area seems to fit. He was a carpenter.
Is it possible for you to check if this is a link ? It would be amazing to get further back
Many Thanks
