I've tried tracing two branches now already and it's still exciting when there's a breakthrough! Thank you both so much. Yeah :)

William married Sarah Emily (Talliss) in 1908 - I've got part of her family (mother's side) sorted out back to 1803 or so. I wonder if he would've been in Wandsworth (where they got married) by 1901 already....

(a very happy) Kristina :)

Yeah!  :D :D  ;D Absolutely brilliant!  Fantastic. The ages fit very well! indeed! I wonder if they had one more daughter or whether Amelia was called Minnie for some reason? You never know - my family seems to have been big on nicknames! Nice but not very practical when you're trying to find your ancestors!  ::)

Thanks so much.... :)

Hi Tanja

Thanks - I'll have a look. :) I have no birthdays but William got married in 1908 nso I'm guessing he and his siblings were all born between 1870 and 1890 - depending on whether he was the oldest or youngest. Sorry...it's not a lot to work with but my Gran is senile and it's hard to get anything out of her and the rest of the family have never thought to ask about their ancestors... :(

I'm looking for William Albert George SQUIRE,  his  brother and 5 sisters.

Their names are  Mabel, Maude, Charles, Beatrice, Lil (Lily/Lillian?) and Min (Minnie?)

Possibly in Tavistock or Torrington.

Thanks! :)

Hi Prue (love your name BTW)

I'm in Denmark and I'm in this mess because my dad bumped into my mum in Scotland while mountainclimbing (she was an au-pair I think).  ;D

I have found several LDS churches in  Denmark, but I presume they don't necessarily have family centres attached? Anyway - it's a start! :)

Erhm....oh I feel so daft....what would the original indexes be, that I should/could check the birth info with?  :-[

Hehe - you're a great help believe it or not! I appreciate it very much. :) Oh what the heck.....do you think you could find John in 1881 please?

Thanks!

Aha - so he is a widower. So he's still a possibility.  :)

Do I have enough information to get Clara's birth certificate? FreeBMD has a Clara Ellen Hudson born in Kensington mar 1859.

What is the local LDS family history centre?  ??? I don't live in the UK and have not done so since I was 3 years old.

I just had a look around FreeBMD again and I have a feeling my John remarried in 1871....It could be a coincidence, but in 1871 a John Hudson marries and the next year a Ellen Maria Hudson is born.....Clara's middle name is Ellen and if my theory is right Maria is her mum. Would the new wife have allowed that - if she had a say at all? And why didn't he bring his daughter back to him when (if) he remarried? Oh I don't know - this is tricky stuff and I couldn't have done any of it without all the kind people who've helped me. :)

Thanks again!

Kristina
