Possibly your family were congregationalist and would be christened at Bethlehem Independent Congregational chapel at St Clears - is on LDS nonconformist records.

Thanks Keyboard (sorry do not know your name)
Yes, will have to obtain birth cert.
I rarely ask for help and have personally researched over 30 years tracking and tracing 800 related Snowball's in Co Durham and Northumberland connected my Snowball family.
Is not easy when now living miles from durham record office.
So all help was appreciated with Abel/Alexander appearing only as a name on f/tree.

Thanks, yes I found marriage for a Sarah to Thomas Thirkill but was June 1861 H'pool and mystery man Abel/Alexander/Ellickwas born December 1861 so if she same Sarah, seems unlikely she his Mother.
Other possibility if considering he illigitimate was Ann as his Mother born 1845 of William and Margaret but nothing further found her later census.
My initial request for help was due being stuck with exact data birth/birthplace for this son of William and Margaret and I needed 1901/1911 census details.
I found him named Abel born 1861 - traced him 1871 then as Alexander on 1881 census but had no  access to 1901/1911 census to clarify his birthplace, wife, etc.
 Now have details.  Thanks.

1871 Census Hartlepool Margaret Stephenson previously married to William Snowball. Has his children with her. 2nd husband Ralph Stephenson unlisted at home.
William Snowball and Margaret did not state son Alexander/Ellick was their grandson 1871.
William deceased.   No idea why wife stated was grandson.
You suggest his parents were either Sarah or Ann but who were they wives of? Also where  are they on 1851/1861 census?
I can check from my Snowball f/trees as have researched all ancestry and branches back to 1525 Durham, see if either a Sarah or Ann had a son Alexander/Ellick, so far have no other couples having son Alexander/Ellick born 1861. Yes agree Alex could be also Ellick but have not found birth record for him. Will search further. Thanks.

Hello Keyboard 86 - Is confusing re Ellick and Alexander. Thanks for your efforts here.
At time of marriage 1882 Alexander/Ellick's father William Snowball was deceased (1864)maybe reason he not listed, also Alexander/Ellick hardly knew father being aged 2/3 when father died and his Mother remarried Ralph Stephenson in 1866, maybe he did not know his father's name, whereas Mary Pearson did as father possibly still alive.
By way, found possible connection with Alexander/Mary's son Joseph b 1906 middle name Campion.
A marriage Pearson to Campion in 1854 Hartlepool. have to check but likely Mary Pearson's
parents she being born 1858 Hartlepool. Looks like her on 1881 census Hartlepool, age 23, Dom.Servant with Kirtley family at Royal Victoria Hotel, Stranton. H'pool.
Matter of census mistakes, many people unable to read and write and often census takers relied on children's versions(many by then in schools) or whatever parent told them to write down, hence spelling often haywire, not always fault of emunerator not understanding accent, he'd be local man. Often when enumerator called Father not at home being at work.
Thanks all for your help. Will pursue further.

:)
Thank you Pam and very grateful Ian, you have correct Alexander 1901 census am lookin for.
I found most of those children, apart from last 2 born. Now I have an address. I am fairly sure Abel was Alexander, he 20 stated coal miner born Sunderand on 1881 census as boarder at Railway Inn, Castle Eden - he cannot be the other Alexander's born at Sunderland,I have data those there, however Castle Eden was link with "Abel's" parents living there in 1864 when the father William Snowball died. Maybe was a transcription 1871 census mistake, Alex named as Abel,  not found anything later for Abel.
The Snowballs had earlier connections with Witton Gilbert and Sunderland.
Mother Margaret H Corner had remarried 1866 & by 1871 census was a Widow using 2nd husband's surname Stephenson and with her were William Snowball's children including "Abel".
    Many thanks everyone for help.
