Dublin / Re: Richmond Monkstown - death 1857 Pim
« on: Thursday 25 June 20 15:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi!

I'm back.

Unfortunately I don't know v much about my Joseph Pim.  I know he was married to Caroline Matilda Beeho (though haven't found the marriage) and had children with her from about 1824.  I have been "told" he died in 1850ish but have never been given proof of that.  He is not "deceased" on his son's marriage certificate but I don't suppose that means much.

I have found Joseph and Caroline's children and their marriages but never any mention of Joseph.

Caroline Matilda and her sons and daughters lived and died in Dublin and are buried at Mount Jerome cemetery.  I keep checking but no transcription of their graves (in case Joseph is mentioned).

If I could find their marriage it might help with finding his death?  At least I might know age, where to look (possibly).

Any pointers v v gratefully received!

Hi Delton

I am really sorry the book doesn't mention parents nor any other Shaws.  It lists Quaker surnames - and Shaw is in the list but no detail about the Shaws.

There are some websites:

http://www.mountmellick.net/

http://www.irishmidlandsancestry.com/

Which give detail about the Quakers in Mountmellick but not sure if they have details about your family - sorry!

Hopefully someone else can help you?

Happy hunting!!  ;D

Hi Shane

Thank you for your help.  I think they were Church of Ireland and possible quite rich originally (they were part of the Pim Dynasty but married possibly below themselves (into my family!! ;0)

I will look at newspapers and try some parish records.  Basic info is fine - at the moment I am hoping it is Joseph Pim but the info I have so far doesn't even give a first name!

Thank you again

Dublin / Richmond Monkstown - death 1857 Pim
« on: Monday 07 June 10 10:13 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Any suggestions as to where I need to look for further information on a death.  I know a Pim died on 22/8/1857 aged 76 at Richmond Monkstown. I appreciate that I can't get a death certificate.  I think the source is an American newspaper article. Do I need to check the parish records of the area?

Sorry been away from the family hunt for sometime and trying to kickstart my research (and my brain!).

Hi Anne

Thank you for your reply.  I wrote (posted by snail mail) to Mount Jerome about 2 months ago but have had no reply so far.

I do know exact dates of death (for the 2 Matilda's and possibly even date of funeral for Matilda snr).   Perhaps I need to just give them more time!  Any ideas where I can find the fees and then I can write again enclosing a cheque?

Thanks for your interest and help.

Best wishes

Anne-Marie
