The graveyard in Annagry was not opened until 1914 so hence the reason Sarah would not be buried there. Sarah may have been buried in Kincasslagh which was used prior to 1914. If they had a 'Doogan' family grave in Kincasslagh she may be buried there. Good luck with your research.

Thanks everyone for all the messages. To Patrick Crawford - I am also a direct descendant of Frank McGinley as he would be my GG Grandfather. I would love to know more about this line of the McGinley's so could you please email me at (*)
I believe Frank had 5 children Mickey, Nelly (my great grandmother), Frank Beag, Biddy and Mary.
Looking forward to chatting with you. :)

Thanks Sinann, I think the probate must be for my GG grandfather James as he is not on the 1911 census but his wife Ann is on the 1911 census as 'widowed'. Not sure why the probate would be granted to 2 other people when his wife was still alive. Interesting!!!
Appreciate all your help ;)

Thanks Sinann, your information has been very helpful. I have found out that my great grandfather was Charles McGlinchey, (spelt McGlinshy on birth record) he was born in Ballybofey on 16 Sept. 1869. He married Catherine Ward (daughter of Bernard Ward and Annie Lafferty) on 15 Nov 1893 in Ballybofey. They moved to Coatbridge Scotland as my grandfather James was born in Coatbridge, Scotland on 30 May 1898. My grandfather James (aged 2) is on the 1901 Ireland census living with his grandparents, James and Annie. His parents Charles and Catherine are on the Scottish census in 1901. What I am now confused about is the 1911 census. Grandfather James is on both the Scottish and Irish census. Any thoughts on why this would be???

Hi, I am new to RootsChat and just saw your post.
My great grandmother was Ellen (Nellie) McGinley from Mullaghduff and I am trying to find out if there is any connection with your McGinley's from Mullaghduff. Nellie married my great grandfather Daniel (Donal Owen) Boyle on 1st March 1870 at St Mary's Belcruit. On the marriage register it has her father as Patrick but I have been told by a cousin of mine that her father was Frank McGinley as she was known as Nellie Frank. Any information that you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I'm new to RootsChat so bare with me as I learn (fumble) my way through this.
I am looking for information on my GG grandparents James McGlinchey and Annie Coll. They married in Ballybofey on 21st Oct 1868 and had 12 children. I believe 3 of their children Denis McGlinchey, Susan McGlinchey and Anne McGlinchey emigrated to USA at different times. According to the marriage certificate of James and Annie my GGG grandfather was also James McGlinchey and my other GGG grandfather was John Coll. If anyone has any information on the families I would love to know more. Thanks
