A lot of what is being posted is information I already have on the family. These links summarise what I have:

What I am trying to establish is if there was another child born to this family in 1868 named Elizabeth. I had two pieces of evidence that established her existence. The first is an article from the Bendigo Advertiser dated 15/7/1868 in which mother Elizabeth was involved in the inquest into the death of a child (not hers) who she had been nursing. As she was nursing, it is likely that Elizabeth had her own infant that she was nursing at the time. I also had my own handwritten note that I copied from a source that stated an Elizabeth Underdown was buried in Bendigo in 1898, aged 30, the daughter of a Robert Underdown and Elizabeth. Unfortunately, I have misplaced the source that I located this from. It is this source that I have been trying to establish with my post.

I have tried all the usual locations to find it in Bendigo Cemetery records and newspaper articles to no avail. I was hoping that someone may be aware of some other or more obscure sources that I have overlooked and could potentially check to locate where I got this information from.

I hope this clarifies the situation for everyone.

No Matthew. That is a possible sister to her. The registration is actually for Mary Elizabeth Ann (even though registered only as Elizabeth Ann) who went by the name of 'Annie'. This family did very confusing things with names that has caused lots of complications, which is why I'm hoping to find the original burial source.

No it doesn't Maddy, but she also had several other definitive children who had pre-deceased her and they are not mentioned in the article at all either.

I am beginning to wonder if I made an error in the information I wrote down as no source is appearing to support it. If anybody does find anything, please let me know, however I think I will need to ignore the information about the burial in 1898.

Thanks Canclam. The death notice you have added is for the woman who is potentially the mother of the Elizabeth I am looking for. Really appreciate your efforts.

Hi
I am a descendant of Thomas and Ann Underdown (nee Harding) of Devon, England. Their children Thomas and Robert Underdown came out to Australia. I am descended from Thomas' branch - you are descended from Robert's branch.
If you are still interested in finding out more about the Devon Underdown line, I recommend you start here - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Underdown-360
I am gradually adding as much detail on the family as I can to Wikitree. That link will take you to what I have added on Paddy's father, and you can keep clicking each generation back to find out more.
If you would like some more specific detail, please don't hesitate to contact me and we can private message each other.
Regards, Eramophla

Hi Spark
I know you posted this a long time ago, however I would be interested in the Underdowns of Devon and London if you still have them.

Thanks for that Matthew. No - this isn't the one I am looking for. I came across the same article myself previously. I really appreciate your efforts. I'm just kicking myself now that I forgot to write the source down.

Australia / Victorian Burial Source - Elizabeth Underdown d 1898
« on: Saturday 21 January 23 22:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I am trying to locate the source of a burial for an Elizabeth Underdown who died age 30 in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia in 1898. Her father was recorded as Robert and her mother as Elizabeth.
I wrote down the details as above however forgot to write down the source and have been trying to locate it since. I have checked Find a Grave, Billion Graves, Australian Cemeteries Index and Remembrance Parks with no success.
I know the details of Elizabeth's family so there is no need to post info relating to them. I am just trying to find out where I got this information from! I have obviously missed some resource somewhere. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Eramophla
