Kent / Re: mental hospital in Sittingbourne area

Hi Lis
Interested in your post for two reasons!  One I have Variegate Porphyria, which is not that common so I'm always interested in it, and two I live just outside of Sittingbourne!  I concur with the comments that Keycol was primarily an isolation hospital, but would be interested to find out the place of death.  However there was a mental institution at Chartham near Canterbury and that fell under the Bridge registration district; I have a GG Aunt that died there in 1918

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Henry Batchelor Hartlip Kent
« on: Tuesday 03 April 18 19:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I've just seen in another tree showing that he was born in Doddington c 1767, parents Robert Batchelor & Eleanor Tallenden, m. 16/12/1755 Doddington (so unverified info).  What makes you think he was born in Hartlip, out of interest?  There's no Batchelor births I can see on the Hartlip PR.

Henry is on the 1841 census in Linstead (Lynsted) with daughter Abigail and her husband William Saywell.  There is a Henry Batchelor who died in Lynsted in 1842 buried with or near Abigail Sarah Saywell.

Mary Hollands is in my tree.

Hope this gives a pointer may be?

Next to Ham is Lower Halstow; sure it's not Halstow rather than Hardres?  Could be mis transcription

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Frances Ann Judd, baptised Bicknor 1846

Hi

I have her in my tree with mother Mary Morgan (maiden name) only, the baptism only makes ref to the Mother's name and no status.  Robert Judd married Mary Morgan 1st Feb 1829 in Thurnham

Not sure if that helps at all

Hi Nick

Thank you, my only query is her birth, if that is right she was only about 7 when she got married..!?

Not sure that can be right, even then!
