This 1864 Birth Cert for a Patrick Comiskey, Monaghan looks very promising. Father Peter..Mother Mary Shelvin. This could tie in with the family believing there is a Monaghan connection.

I see from your 1911 link Patrick lived in Mercer Street. Also Database-DublinCity.ie shows him thyere in 1912. It seems from records that many people in the Mercer Street area got jobs in Jacobs Biscuit Factory.

Thanks for all that Dathai. I'll have to get the time to slip into Guinness, instead of phoning, as it's pretty certain now that he worked there as a Cooper.

Looking for any information on Peter Comiskey, born around 1862 and may have worked as a Cooper.
His son Patrick, Meath Place, married Henrietta McNaughton in Dublin in 1887. This branch of the family were Army people and a later relation is down as working in Guinness
