Hi,
In answer to your question, the address for Emma Jones, as stated on her marriage certificate, is simply Ashton.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion.
The most promising candidate I have for Emma Jones is the one that was born on 4th January 1849 at Ruyton of the XI Towns, to a single mother, Elizabeth Jones. In 1851, Emma was with her grandparents and her grandfather was William Jones, a sawyer. In 1871, she was a servant to an artist's widow in Castle Street, Shrewsbury.
This is by no means conclusive, and it leaves questions unanswered, but I have been unable to trace this particular Emma Jones after 1871 so cannot eliminate her from my search.

Emma Jones married John Alfred Kenyon on 10th July 1871, at St. Michael and All Angels in Ashton-under-Lyne. She states her age as 22, and her father as William Henry Jones, a joiner. The witnesses are James Green and Julia Jones. On the 1881 Census she is recorded as coming from Shropshire, possibly Bascott or Baschurch. On the 1891 Census she is recorded as coming from Brookhouses, Shropshire and the 1901 Census records her birthplace as Shrewsbury. On the 1901 Census she is identified as Emma O. Kenyon. She died in January 1907 and on her burial record she is named as Emma Oliver Kenyon, aged 58.
I cannot find her, with any certainty, prior to her marriage.
I should be grateful if anyone could suggest any leads.
