I think that the x's on the index image are just to show where the handwritten entries should go alphabetically.
There is a 1945 St Asaph entry for * * Jones mmn Parry but it is September quarter.
If you look at image it is See S45

On FindMyPast, you can search for free and buy individual records. A 1939 image costs £1.50. You can get other records and newspaper pages 50p-£1.50 each. You can also work out a lot for free before you buy. Includes 1921 census too, £3.50 each image.

In the 1939 Register, have you looked at James W Danson 1922 in Poole?

The deceasedonline record is the cremation register scan, cost £2.20. Vouchers start at £5 or subscriptions are available.
