Hi taylorwallace, I have been researching the Arran Bannatynes for some years. You are probably not all that intertested in Catherine Bannatyne's ancestry, but, if you are, let me know. Or, if you've been able to trace her father James' ancestry back beyond Peter Bannatyne & Catherine Shaw, I'd be very interested. Cheers  Peter

I have been trying to find something out about one of my great great grandmothers, Mary Bannatyne, born on Arran around 1823. She married James Crawford born on Arran in about 1819. Do you know these people or their antecedants etc? Would love to find out more.

I have ancestors who were Pools and Kers from The Howes, Annan. James Ker (b. 1811 and Elizabeth Pool (b. 1821), to be exact. Do  you know anything further about these people. As far as I can make out James' father was William (b.1774) and mother was either or both Agnes or Nansy Holliday. Would love some help with any of these please.

Dumfriesshire / Re: Early Annan Census - look up offer

Thank you for the offer to look up certain names. I am currently searching for the names Ker in Annan.
I have a relative James Ker born in Annan in about 1811 and he married an Elizabeth, (Betsey) Pool, from Teweksbury.
I can find no references anywhere to their marriage. I believe James was the son of William Ker and Nansy Holliday. I have a reference in James' NZ obituary to The Howes, Annan. Are you able, or is anyone here able, to shed any further light on this person.
