Thanks to everyone for their great input to my query. I would still like more information on my paternal grandfather John Singleton, married Sarah Kelly on 1st March 1917 St Michael and John church. They had children Anne, Mary, Ned, John, Esther and Kate. The only birthdate I have is for my dad John Patrick Singleton born March 1920 married my Mum Catherine Mary Phelan, born Oct 31st 1922. Can anyone help with this? thanks    Redsa

Looking for any information regarding my gg Grandad Benjamin Singleton born Dublin 1856, Fathers name was Robert, a clerk, born Kildare. Benjamin was a private in the Northampton Regiment. He was married to Kate Doyle, Fathers name was John Doyle, a gardener.Although Benjamin was Irish as far as I am aware he served in the British Army. In the 1901 Census he lived at 3 Church Lane Kildare.  Is there any information on him as regarding his military career etc?        Thanks     Redsa

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO FIND INFORMATION ON MY GRANDFATHER JOHN SINGLETON ?He was born 1898, in 1917 when he was 19yrs old he was living at Portobella Barracks as a soldier. His Father was Benjamin Singleton. John was married to Sarah Kelly who lived at 118 Francis Street Dublin. I would love any information on John and even more information on Benjamin, who was he married to, how many siblings etc. John was a soldier in the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1917 when he would have been 19 yrs old. Is there an Irish military site that can perhaps hold the answers and also a site where Benjamins marriage/ birth certificate can be found?[/b]

Hi Dathai, thanks once again for all the info you give me. I have had a couple of ideas that I would like to run past you as this is all new to me. Firstly, as you will see from my original post I have been looking for Mary Phelan. This all started with a memory that my 86 yr old uncle has of being taken to Chapelizod when he was roughly 6 yrs old and his mum getting the ferry over to what he thought was a cemetery, and perhaps visiting her sister Mary Phelan,s grave. We have ruled out Mill Lane and ST Laurences but I see that the last burial was roughly 1928 at Bullys cemetery, could she be buried there? Secondly it suddenly occured to me that Dora Phelan formerly O Brien gave birth to my mum oct 31st 1922 in Toxteth Park South West. She was living at 296 Beaufort Street Liverpool. She died about 2 years later  from blood poisoning. Do you think she could be buried somewhere in Liverpool and thats the reason she's not showing up on your searches? again, thankyou so much for your help. Lilian

No, we had her burial card and went to Glasnevin, as I said the woman got out the ledger, brought it up on screen, told us the info and we went to the grave. Didn't think to ask for a printout. I,ll try to find out her last address but it won't be till sometime over the weekend as I will have to ring Ireland.  Thanks for taking the time to try to sort this for me.
