Hi Treetotal,

I believe it is an actual photograph found by my cousin in her Fathers wallet who passed away in 1986 and she took a picture of it with her mobile phone and sent me it.
She did tell me there was no name on the back but some photo's have a number? I will have to get back in touch with her just to confirm there are no markings.

thanks.

Hi McGroger,

Looking young runs in the family,  people still call me lad even though I am older then them.
It must be in the genes.
Great Grandfather was born in 1854,  the original picture looked to be sepia and that made me think it was possibly earlier than 1900, but I am no expert in these matters and leave for people who are more knowledgeable.

I will have to see if any experts as you say, can shed more light on the subject.
thanks :)

Thank's McGroger,

Thanks for your efforts with the picture, turned out pretty good considering the resolution.

Your dating of the photograph and age of person in it..  could well be on the money.
My Grand Father was born in 1878 so I recon 35 to 40 will not be far out.

Great Stuff.

this is not my quote?    RR

"I believe it is general across Ebgland at least. The bride usually marries in her home parish, and often has her first child there too, though not always in that order. "

The Photograph is either of My Grand Father William Johnson d 1962, or my Great Grand Father George  in Leverton, Lincolnshire.

Could you please give me a date for this photograph if possible.
If anyone would like to try to restore a little, that would be really appreciated!

thank you.

Hi keyboard86,

It appears to be the thing I have come across in Lincolnshire, that generally the groom marries his bride in her county/parish.

I was assuming that the birth I am looking for was in Alford? as the son was born there, maybe  I need to have a different outlook if I am to get any further!

thanks.
