1901 census has Nellie transcribed as Hacks with est birth year of 1876.

i realise its all abit confusing.. which is why it has been so challenging for me..oooo i will look
nelly bailey and ben j hucks had 2 children NELLIE flourence hucks and john henry hucks
then ben j hucks married alice bailey nee fesey and had children
so the brother in law and sister in law got married and looked after each others kids...
when alice and ben got married it says widowed . but i am struggling to find the death of the spouses
In 1911, Benjamin appears to be in a lodging house in Coventry, with his surname written as Hooks. He claims to be widowed.its a bit messed up but that was the daughter nellie of nelly bailey and ben j hucks...
Closest fit for an actual death between 1901 and 1911 is Emma Ellen Hooks, 29, Q1 of 1903 in Sheffield, 9c 368.
