thanks for your message; Christianna Kinnish was my great-great grandmother. her dates are 31-5-1846 to 18-4 1923. She was widowed young Richard tyson Burrows died in 1888 so she took over the tenancy of creggans farm and ran it with her son until the compulsory purchase order to build the airport. They all went to Kirk Michael but were all returned to Malew church for burial. If it is the same lady I will happily send you my research and family tree if you give me your email address. good luck with your searching
regards Maureen

I am trying to trace the descendants of Lena and John Kneene who emmigrated from IOM in early 20th century. I know they had a son born on Man who went with them.
Lena nee Horsley was my gt gt aunt.I am descended from Louise her sister who married Tom Kinnish Burrows; the sisters wrote long letters for many years;Louise died in 1944. Anyone out there?

thanks for your reply; I was most impressed with your web site; it must have taken years of effort and enthusiasm to gather it all in and organise it so well.
Our catherine fargher's parents were thomas and isabelle of ballachrink farm malew. She had sisters jane ann and esther, brother john. Amazing coincidence is this is the farm where we stay when we visit IOM; a beautiful, peaceful spot which overlooks the farm where catherine lived after her marriage to my gt gt uncle
best wishes

I have a Catherine Fargher 1874 who married my gt gt uncle in1895 William Burrows of malew. They brought up their children William Tyson Burrows, Kathleen, Henry Fargher Burrows at Ballagilley farm on the Ronaldsway estate. These Farghers were tenants of a neighbouring farm,as were the rest of William's family

I have been researching the Burrows family of creggans farm malew IOM; I have an almost complete family tree and several documents gathered from all over the world.I would like to chat with anyone else looking at this family; I am interested to learn what became of the family when the farm was sold by its owner the Quayles to turn the land into ronaldsway airport as the census will be some time coming!! I would also like to find a photo of the farm when it was used as a hotel in 1950's and 60's to service the airport before demolition in mid 60's.
