:) :) ;) ;D  What a great bunch you are you have my Novello Shelley Green OK her marriage certificate gives her father as William Green Boot and shoe maker

I must be brain dead I searched for her as many versions of the name and even as Shelly Green but never considered a total mis spelling
I should have as I found my Grandmother Margaretta Evans listed in 1901 as Magratha Evans

How does a mere Mortal say THANK YOU  :D :D :) :)

I only hope I get to do the same for others

Hi Staffie here

Just after some new ideas regarding an ancestor or rather lack of one

I have been trying to find the birth of a Novello Shelly Green born Jun 1/4 1869 in Shoreditch East London I have her marriage to a David Llewellyn Evans in 1904 in Hackney where his occupation shows as R O Clerk David incidentally was born also in Shoredith on 11 July 1870
I have a letter from him in December 1960 when he lived in Great Malvern ( not sure if Novello is still alive )
Right now the ????? I can’t find any record of Novello Green in any census 1881 /1891 /1901 so where can she be
I thought at first her father may have been in the military but according to David and Novello's marriage certificate he was a shoe maker ( Deceased )

So come on you clever lot where do I go or rather where did she GO?

Staffie ??? :-[

Thank you so much for that

I will indeed give the record office a try they don't tend to be that helpful here and would rather pay them as I have had some bad dealings with a few alleged "professionals

You have all been so helpful I just hope I get the chance to reciprocate

Oh Boy
what a great lot you all are

I have lewis and Mary Ann's marriage in which he shows a Bachelor and she Spinster both of "full age"
His Father is John Evans ( Weaver ) and her father is Evan Evans ( Mariner )
Mary gives her residence as (Morfa ??? not clear ) Borth
and Lewis gives his as Taicannol
certificate shows The Parish Church Llanfihangel G/G ( after Banns ) and is signed  Edward Jones Curate

Witnesses look like John Owens and David Jones

The trade seems right My Great Grandfather Elias came to London and set up 2 Tailoring businesses but sadly died in very strange circumstances at the age of only 43

I think I may need professional help ( Not personally ) to trace this further as it is a long way from Essex to Wales so advice on ways forward should be based on remote assistance
Although you have already all added so much to what was speculation

THANK You ;D

can anyone tell me who was Lewis's wife in 1851 Census as I would like to locate certificates Thanks

I am trying to find information and connections to my G/G/Grandfather LEWIS EVANS and his family
Lewis was born 1818 in Llanfihangel G/G but I have no idea what date
He married Mary Anne Evans ( nee Evans ) on 21 Jan 1842 but the certificate just states "in the Parish" ??? she was born Stepney E/London in 1816 but I need to find them in the 1861 Census
They had 7 children born
Elias 31/10/1843
Sophia March 1/4 1844
Evan 1845
Mary 1847
Jane 1848
John 1850
Catherine Dec 1/4 1850
They were all born in Llanfihangel Elias birth shows Talybont township of Henllys
I would love to hear from anyone with a connection to this family and how do I go about tracing the family pre 1818
I believe Lewis may have married twice but have found no proof

Many thanks for any advice

I am sure none of my familyare interested in my research and when I Asked myself this question I came up with the idea of placing my tree at least on as many sites as was possible and of course Family search to whom most of us mere mortals start in the hope that this trend continues and if later members of my family take an interest it's there for them if not it's there for others  ::)
