Where did you get your information from?

The Common Room / Re: Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire Parish Registers
« on: Saturday 19 August 23 11:24 BST (UK)  »
I know that Ancestry is putting the Cambridgeshire records online before the end of the year, and are digitising Suffolk also, was hoping that Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire might be in the pipeline too.
Does Cambridgeshire include Huntingdonshire?

The most recent Bedfordshire Archives Annual Report says

Preliminary discussions were held with the three major online publishers of family history material over
a possible digitisation project and survey work was carried out by our conservator in relation to this.
It's very vague!

The Common Room / Re: Baptisms missing mother

Another case is if the mother has died before the child is baptised. I've seen quite a few instances of this, although it is much more common to name the mother and note that she is dead (or ignore the fact).

Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Thomas Robinson born 1614 in Cardington
« on: Friday 03 March 23 21:41 GMT (UK)  »
He was baptised again(!) at Cople the next day, his mother being given as Dorothy. This suggests his parents were Thomas Robinson and Dorothy Sedsman who married at Cardington on 21st January 1604/5. There were three children (Sibyl, Joan & Thomas) baptised at Cardington in this timeframe with a father Thomas. I have no later records for any of the three, but there is a burial of a Thomas Robinson at Cardington on 7th February 1639/40 who might or might not be your man. Parents Thomas & Dorothy were buried a few days apart in February 1619/20.

Since it seems there are no descendants, at least in Cardington, Cople or any of the other parishes I have entered into my database, I am curious as to your interest in this man.

Harrowden, Cottage no. 28

Occupier
Elizabeth Hillyard, widow, born at Barford, S.L., 53

Children
Dorothy, in London, 21
Martha, S.L. & J., 17
Edith, S.L. & J., 15
James, 12
Joseph, 9

(S.L. & J. means Spins Linen and Jersey)

The editors have guessed that this is the marriage of Samuel Hillyard, widower, to Elizabeth Watson, widow, both of Cardington, Jan 5 1762.
Other sources noted by the editors give them as tenants of Thomas Brimley, and as receiving relief in the overseer's accounts.

Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Bolnhurst Baptism Lookuo plese

You can find my transcripts of Bolnhurst registers from 1813 at my site http://www.stevengibbs.me.uk/BaptismRegistersPage.htm

Bolnhurst registers before then can be found at https://archive.org/details/bedfordshirepari11bedf/page/n9/mode/2up?view=theater

However, FamilySearch shows a marriage of Evans Jones to Elizabeth Pickering at Stagsden on 28 May 1791. I would normally be sceptical about this - Stagsden is a bit too far away. However, there only appears to be one Evans Jones in Bedfordshire at the time. Unfortunately, I don't think the Stagsden Registers are online, so I can't check.
