dawnsh & Sandra,

Thank you dawnsh, apology Sandra.

Another phone call - another person, confirms UK membership @ £59.99 is for 12 months.
Have accepted the offer.

Thank you.

Jolyon.

Sandra,

Phoned Ancestry this am - informed that offer of £59.99 for UK membership is 6 months, not 12 months.  I just lost interest, but thought I should pass on this crucial bit of info.

Claire,

Thank you for link - the whole site is fascinating, but mostly outside my area of interest [and negotiating skills].
The original site I recall had epitaph's from some of the more remote villages, such as Asby, though I don't recall the name of the person who complied it.

Maiden Stone,

Thank you for the suggestion. Will give the site a 'look' as you suggest.

A few years ago I obtained valuable data about some of my ancestors from the above site,  so I'm disappointed to see it has now been discontinued.

I'm curious, could someone tell me the reason?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Death registration - name of informant.

Thank you all for your thoughts, though no eureka moment.  I don't think the first letter is a lower case 'aitch' either, but it could be I suppose.

It's a subject I re-visit every now and again so I'll put it on the back-burner for another day.  Again my thanks to all for your contributions.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Death registration - name of informant.
« on: Wednesday 15 April 20 16:47 BST (UK)  »
 Hi all,

If compiled correctly I have attached a copy death cert where I can't decipher the surname of the informant.   Hoping someone has a flash of inspiration.

Thanks in advance.

Martin,

Yes, very interesting.  Even I could use it.

Thank you.

Chris,

No direct help with your query but, some years ago I researched my late wife's family history and her lineage includes Palins, from the same area and period, and my guess is they are related to yours.
(Includes a Martha Jane born Crew in 1871 as I recall)

If of any interest send me a Personal Message.

Technical Help / Re: Adobe Acrobat DC - can't print images
« on: Saturday 09 March 19 17:29 GMT (UK)  »
Midase,

Off the top of my head I guess the answers are;
a) Transactions are already saved, on the building society website.
b) I want hard copies sometimes instead.

Regards
