Thanks for that but I have Richard White born Barnsley 1810.......it's quite a few generations earlier that they seem to trace to Darton

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / ATTFIELDs in Farnham, Wanborough and Woking
« on: Wednesday 30 June 04 00:35 BST (UK)  »
My mother's gx4 grandfather, William Attfield, died in Farnham Castle in 1837 aged 87. He had been Bailiff to the Bishop of Winchester(whos palace this is/was). We(my 5th cousin Merion and I!) think that he was the son of Richard Attfield and Ann Paine(ie b 1749). However, I can't find a Will for Richard and so I'm stuck! We also think that Richard was the son of Nathaniel Attfield of Badshot who may have originated from Woking around 1700.
If anybody has any ATTFIELD details in the Wanborough, Worplesdon, Farnham, Woking areas 1650 to 1780, I would be delighted to here from you, and of course from any ATTFIELDs and their researchers,

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / ATTFIELDS in Aldershot area
« on: Wednesday 30 June 04 00:23 BST (UK)  »
My mother's gx3 grandfather, Francis Attfield, had a brother called George Attfield born Wanborough bap 5/12/1778 Ash, just over the border in Surrey. He married a Naomi(Nimmy) Charlton at St Michaels Aldershot on 11/10/1800. As far as I can see they had 13 children(what a gal, that Nimmy!) in Aldershot and they were both still alive and living in Church Hill, Aldershot in 1851. (another brother, James Attfield lived next door).
One of their children, Jane, married a Thomas Newell (see www.newell-family.net)
If anybody has any links to any other of these children I would like to hear from them....it'll save me some research 'legwork' in my impossible quest to find all my relatives!....and indeed I'd like to hear from any Attfields or their researchers
