11 years later still no further  ??? ??? He will appear one day I am sure....

(I have a feeling that John Frater will end up being a brother to Thomas Frater 1769-1839  Andrew Frater 1775-1845 and David Frater 1762 Parents being David Frater and Dorothy Allison that married in 1756 Ilderton, Northumberland, England.) Not  that feelings are any good for adding to family history. (Only been able to find 3 children for David and Dorothy I am sure there will be more)

Northumberland / Frater/Harvey Marriage

Looking for the marriage of John Frater and Isobel Harvey/Harvie

Also looking for the birth of John Frater, its like a needle in a haystack. I think born abt 1770/1780 area he was certainly deceased by 1851 when his youngest son listed him as deceased on shipping papers, he was not on the 1841 census with Isabel in Yetholm, Scotland so I am guessing that he died between the birth of youngest son in 1828 and 1841.
Possible birth for John Frater.

JM, name variants is one thing I always seem to forget for some silly reason, I did that once before  and the whole time I already had the death of the one I was looking for some years before hand.
Seem James may of travelled the world before he married again... I did find a war record for James that died in Norfolk but sadly no parents names mentioned to confirm this to be the right James.

Sue

James  was born  17 Jun 1878, Townhead Street, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire and 3 older children also in Scotland ..Parents being David Goodwillie 1851- 1938 and Catherine Hamilton Wood 1855-1923. Annie Wood Goodwillie  was born in the Tasman sea in 1880 then in 1881 Jeannie(Janet) Goodwillie born Green Island in NZ and last of their children William born in NZ in 1882.... After this David and Catherine parted David went on to have 4 more children with Elizabeth....  and Catherine went on to have another 5 children with John McKillop-Davies.... William was the last child born in NZ the last 4 and 5 all born in NSW Australia

Thank you for that Sue, I think I need to now go and see if I can find a shipping record after 1913 for James Goodwillie leaving Australia and going to England.

Thanking You
Chris
