Mersea is what is now known as Point Pelee on Lake Erie.  He is is also in the 1861 Census and the originals can be found here for free.

https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/census/Pages/census.aspx

There is quite a bit about its history on the internet.

The only wat to access Point Pelee prior to the 1860's was by boat and therefore not accessible during the winter months.

He appears to have been single.  Why there...it was a favorite anchoring spot for boats navigating Lake Erie as it offered protection against the wild weather from fall to spring.

If you are looking for his death and burial best bet is here.

Samuel isn't a common given name amongst Cameron's but there are references to a W. Cameron in PEI from the 1800 which "if" William was the eldest son could reference his father.

Scot's in PEI arrived there as former military personnel who opted to take advantage of some land grants following the colonial war; from the clearances in Scotland where crofters emigrated to Canada.  So you could look at these records (Loyalist and Emigrant Ships) which are available online.

The other is the PEI BMD Database http://www.gov.pe.ca/parosearch There is no birth of a Samuel Cameron but there are references under "Textual Items" which is where you will find W. Cameron and even a handful of S. Cameron's.

The other thing to remember there were a lot of Loyalists who arrived from the U.S. so you need to take that into consideration as the families place of origin.

Cameron is a very common surname throughout all of the British Isles so his family might not even be from Scotland.

Technical Help / Re: Windows 11
« on: Sunday 24 October 21 20:46 BST (UK)  »
All those who tried to install or who have installed Win11 you now have a new program called Windows PC Health Check now installed.

Uninstall it (add/remove programs).  Then go to your Program folder and uninstall all the new Programs Windows left you.  Just right click the Icon and uninstall.  Then turn off automatic system updates.  But do remember to check for updates manually once a month and only pick the ones you want/need.

Those who got the msg saying your PC doesn't qualify for this upgrade it is because your motherboard doesn't have the TPM chip or it hasn't been activated which is the chip that Windows uses for its new and improved security platform.  The majority of boards don't have this so your PC isn't finished.  Many of Intel's new boards as in 2021, don't have it either.

I have Win11 on a notebook, I uninstalled all the new programs and I turned auto updates off and to be honest its ok it doesn't bite it just looks different.  I'm in my 70's, I like change so I adapt.

Instrument of Protest against...and Marion Scott of Balgawe.  4/11/1506

So probably not born 1499-1502.

Instrument on renunciation by William Scott of Balwearie, kt, in favour of Marion Scott, relict of deceased George Henderson (Hendirsone) of Fordell... 22/6/1544

Term relic means widow.  George is dead by 22 Jun 1544.

The 1546 entry states this Sasine was completed following on resignation of said George...in other words this transaction was completed after his death.

I know there is no record of a marriage contract hence my suggestion to contact the NRS.

BTW page two gives you some of the children including daughter Marion was obviously born before George died.

This is painful part because it costs coin to acquire a copy of the original record.

https://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/welcome.aspx

Select Search
Search for: Marion Scott click the "Phrase" button
There will be 43 results.
Then to the right of the Title above the first entry click on the date and it will sort the entries oldest to newest.

These are all the records where she is mentioned except the few under George Henderson.  These are not the complete records only a summary.

But, what is missing is the marriage contract and there would have been one.  Obtaining this would answer many questions governing her ancestry.  It is possible it is there but you would need to contact the NRS or hire someone to do a search.
