Just to muddy the waters a little regarding his occupation , there is a Charles Trudgill living in Diss listed in Whites Norfolk Directory 1883
.
Charles Trudgill.  Cattle Dealer and Victualler . Half Moon, St. Nicholas Street.

If this is the same one then he is a man of many talents or maybe its a son of the carpet maker!!!

I apologise for giving you the wrong date of the marriage it should have been 1852 Dec.
If as Carole advised you will need the marriage certificate   this is the correct reference   STOW Suffolk   1852 Dec   4a 1001

Marriage Of Abraham Bland and Harriet Bullett  was in Stow Suffolk.    4a  1001   !833 Dec.

There is a baptism  of Harriett Bullett in Wattisham Suffolk on the 27/10/ 1833.This gives her father's Name as James and her mother's as Sarah

Hopes this helps

I don't know if you have seen this entry in the 1901 census.   Sunderland Durham

Jules Decherck  aged 34  Boarder   shipping labourer  Born Belgium Sub,  Belgium.
There is also a Gerad  Decherck  aged  44 at the same lodging  born Belgium.

There are too many similarities to ignore.

A warm welcome to Roots Chat.

As you know I am trying to find where Reginald Jabez Rigby fits into the publication of  Outspan.
Was he the editor, a journalist or a printer ?
Perhaps you can find out from the copy you have.

Look forward to hearing from you

South Africa / Trying to find a death in Johannesberg

I need help to find the death of an Englishman who reputedly died in Johannesberg  in 1922.

John Edwin Speer emigrated to South Africa with his wife Mary Anne and their son aged 9 in 1919.
His wife and son returned to England in 1922 presumably after his death.

How can I obtain the date of John's death and his death certificate ?  The date of his birth was 1883 in Battersea London
