ok guys here's an update which is a LOOOONG time in coming but was well worth the wait :D

I recently was contacted by a 1st cousin removed who told me that according to information given by his father and written down Beatrice was actually an Alice Beatrice DAVIES and that she may have been born in Kington Herefordshire. Having looked up this Alice Beatrice I duly sent off for the birth certificate asking the GRO to double check fathers name matthew DAVIES and voila!! I am now in receipt of my Greatgrandmothers birth certificate. She was born on the 29th May 1881 The Ryse, Lyonshall, Kington R.E.D ( if anyone has access to a jpg of this place i'd be totally thrilled) and her mother was a Susannah Davies formerly Carnel. I've now gone on to look for a possible marriage of Susannah Carnel and Matthew DAVIES and it appears they may have married in September 1874 in Bedwelty Monmouthshire.I had the right area but just hadn't got the right birth place so I'm thrilled to have got past this brick wall that has had me stumped for so long!! I've also found matthew and susannah in the 1901 census living in Bedwelty in a small hamlet called Blackwood at 30 The high street. There's no sign of Alice Beatrice but there are sisters Emma and Nellie and brothers George and Willie still at home.

Thanks many times over guys for all the researching you all did in order to help me. You're all fab! :D

Only just noticed this post and having recieved my great Grandmothers birth cert yesterday I know she came from Kington. She was called Alice Beatrice DAVIES. Her father was Matthew Davies and her mother was Susannah Davies nee Carmel or Carnel. My Ggrandmother was born on 29/05/1881 at the Ryse, Lyonshall, Kington R.E.D

Is there any connection to your family I wonder?

I know it is a while since this post but just thought I'd mention that right next to St Georges hospital in Morpeth there was also a large complex called Northgate Hospital ( it was a long term residential institution though) where people who had some form of disability, mental health issue which made them appear a 'bit simple', birth out of wedlock etc were sent to live. Must be records available of 'inmates' or residents seeing as it was shut down after Care in the Community became the 'in thing'. ( If I sound a sceptic re care in the community it is because I work with the people who once lived in these large institutions and not enough resources were put in place to offer them the same levels of care at the time of closing and moving these people out causing them a great deal of hardship at the time )

Any way, hope it helps in some way :)

I have the booklets containing full inscriptions for marnoch (1 & 2). If anyone wants the full inscription for a relative buried here just message me with the grave number/s  and I'll let you have the full text :)

Is it possible to see if there are any Lovie family members in there. Specifically James Lovie, Hannah Lovie, John Lovie and Jean Lovie. These are all my ancestors.
Warm Regards
Wendy B.

Really sorry but no Lovies at all :( Good luck with your research though :)
