One of the 10 children born to Catherine and Jules was John Napoleon Marion born in 1852 according to info. on Ancestry. There is a John Napoleon Simpson born to Charles Jules M(Marion?) and Jane Stewart in 1856 in Belmont. He died in 1937 in Geelong. There is a death of a John Marion in 1937 ,aged 85 with father Jules Marion. Mother unknown.There is a marriage between a Charles Simpson born in France and a Jane Stuart( Stewart?) from Wicklow Ireland in 1855 on 31 May in Geelong.Was this the marriage between Catherine Snell and Jules Marion under assumed names?
I am quite bewildered!!!

I am researching the Marion family of Geelong, Victoria Australia.
I am trying to find the parents of Jules Leon Baptiste Marion who married Catherine Snell of Wicklow, Ireland in 1855 in Geelong. They had a large number of children.
Any help much appreciated.

I am looking for the birth date of Catherine Snell of Wicklow.I believe her parents were John Snell and Catherine Smyth. I believe Catherine arrived in Geelong Victoria Australia in 1855.
I think she married Jules Leon Baptiste Marion in Geelong,

Thanks Jo. I'm researching these families for my son-in-law because he has an interest in the Marion line. His grandmother, Margaret Ross(neeMarion) was the daughter of James Marshall Marion who was a son of Catherine Snell and Jules Marion.He was born in Geelong in 1868 and died in Ballarat in 1941.
Or was he a son of Jane Stuart and Charles Simpson?? 😕
Our next step is to discover the parents of Jules Leon Baptiste Marion!

I'm still curious as to how all of this info. connects with the marriage of Catherine Snell and Jules Leon Baptiste Marion. When checking the births of the children it always gives the mother as Catherine Snell and Jules Marion.
