Sorry so late joining this thread - does anyone know whether the Inn was actually nine "houses / separate rooms" etc.?  My relative John Stephens lived there in 1881.

In the marriage banns of 1799, Evan Hughes is down as a member of the Cardigan Militia.  He is not in the 1782 muster lists.  Any way I can find out more?

Incidentally, have you seen the old-maps.co.uk website?  It's a good start for looking up places such as Swansea 1884.

I found a one-line entry for my ancestor, John Hughes (b:1801, Rudbaxton) in the Bishop's transcript in the National Library in Aberystwyth.

Are there more detailed records available so I can progress the search?

Incidentally, John was married to Mary ? (b: 1805).
