Hi Nicoglad
Are you still interested in Frederick Laidler? If so I can point you at some of his doings in Australia in 1920/21. I am researching early aviation in our local region and came across his name in relation to an event in 1921, which led me to this forum and your queries about him.
yes I am, my mother his daughter is still alive and would love to know more about it and how after all his adventures he ended up working in a scrap yard !

I'm afraid I can't help as my grandfather was completely cut off from the Shackleton side of the family as his father died when he was 2 years old and had no contact at all with the Shackletons and I haven't had any contact either.
Good luck with your search

Thanks for all your help now I'll wait with bated breath !!

In our family bible it says that Mary Emma Richards was born 16 November 1869 - Breage and was christened 1884. On her marriage certificate her father is William Richards miner. I have searched the Cornwall database and births and I can't find her. Can anyone help ?

The date I've got is birth cert which I've ordered 1832 Portsmouth of a regimental birth Mary Blake father in 84th Regiment Vol 914 page 3.
All the other children were born in Helston Cornwall from 1834. John Blake only appears on 1841. He died between 41 and 51

Thanks very much. I have got a possible birth of a child Mary and it says father in 84th Regiment. I have absolutely no idea what that means and if there are any connection with Ireland where family stories say he was born. The rest of the children were all born in Helston Cornwall where the family lived from then on.I will send for the birth certificate and see if it is the right one.
