Hi Sinann

Sadly there was no place name for James Healey their 17 year old brother , and there was another sister named Maria Healey also travelled with them but it only said native place Galway for her ..so its strange that Winifred and Margaret had two different native place names. Yes I was hoping the other place name records for Margaret was available, and their father Hugh was dead  when they came out in  1841 but their mother Catherine Healy nee Kelly was still alive...it so frustrating not being able to find any information any one of them in Galway.

Thank you all again, yes for an outsider it is difficult to understand the old Irish names and how their records are held. I am attaching one of the document for Margaret Healy you might see what I mean with the native place....

And member vivenhoe, yes the information you sent is my family, I am trying to find out about them before they came to Australia.

Thanks again

Thank you all so much for your help, it is hard to read some of the old writing on documents there is one shipping records which states they came from or native places called Kilhocken or Kilkochen in Gallway. Is there such a place ?

And if so are there any Birth death or Marriage records for that area for 1800-1845

Kind regards

Galway / Tierney family and Healey's
« on: Thursday 21 May 20 06:20 BST (UK)  »

Hi I am having trouble locating marriage records for the following any help would be much appreciated.

Thomas Tierney to Winifred Healey (Healy,Hely.Haley) both were Catholic's.

They were married in Gallway, Ireland  some time between 1839-1841 they immigrated to Australia in November 1841 on the ship the John Renwick.

On their shipping records it states that Thomas was from Ballygar, County Galway, and Winifred was from Kilkerrin,? Galway, Ireland

It also states that Thomas farther was named Mark Tierney and was deceased his mothers name was not mentioned.
Winifred's states that her father was Hugh Healey and her Mother was Catherine (Katherine) Kelley. Hugh was marked as deceased and Catherine was still alive in 1841.

Any help on their marriage or about their parents would be great.

Kind regards
Tim
