Armed Forces / Re: Henry Frederick Seagram

If his parents are John and Louisa, in 1841 they are at Back Street, Warminster and in 1851 he seems to be at Church Street, Warminster.
Next he appears to go to India with his Regiment, I think from 1858-1869.

There is a marriage of a Henry Frederick SEAGRAM to a Mary Elizabeth WILLIAMS, 10 Jul 1871 in Rhayader, Radnorshire which would tie up with the 1881 census you have him in, he is still listed as an Army Officer.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Ancestry DNA access not working
« on: Tuesday 20 November 18 17:55 GMT (UK)  »
This keeps happening to me too, and my matches are not working properly.
My DNA and one of my parents DNA are coming up as NO SHARED MATCHES!
I have reported it to Ancestry but the more people report the problems directly to ancestry, the more they will take it seriously and do something about it.

Technical Help / Re: Anyone having trouble signing into FindMyPast?
« on: Monday 09 April 18 17:06 BST (UK)  »
Not sure what to suggest apart from contacting them . It' obviously an iPad incompatibility problem if you've had problems for a while. I know a few people on here use iPad to use FindMyPast though  :-\

I don't like their sign in page - they seem to push signing in via Facebook!

Added - have PMed someone who uses iPad.

Totally agree Gadget, I don't like the way they push you signing in with Facebook, just so that the company and Facebook can find out more about you and share and sell parts of that information!

iPad slow but able to access information last night, then some images wouldn't load properly so tried computer and that wouldn't load some images properly either.

Technical Help / Re: Cannot rename folder .

I'm running a different version but this might work for you.
When this happens to me I open Task Manager, go to Applications, select the one that is supposedly open and then press End Task. Then close Task Manager.
It might take about a minute to take effect but that usually does the trick for me.

Lovely clean up Mike4.

With the vest type clothes, shorts and slip on shoes some of them are wearing, together with the boater makes one think of some sort of rowing or water team possibly?
What type of sport or activity would rub off the tips of the shoes like that?
The lower part of the window they are outside seems to have a grill/grid on it in the inside. Were there any institute type places for boys in Shepparton?

Technical Help / Re: Very technical IT help requested
« on: Thursday 22 March 18 23:27 GMT (UK)  »
It maybe that the search you are performing is returning results which are unable to be displayed, as perhaps the search you are doing at home may include some results which are not available in the library edition. Some of the records on ancestry are not available to view at libraries, see link below...

https://support.ancestry.co.uk/s/article/Ancestry-vs-Ancestry-Library-Edition

It is worth giving ancestry a call on their free phone number to save yourself wasting your time if it is limited.
